The distance between each motor vehicle can stop depends on following factors:
*Total reaction time
*Speed of the vehicle
*Efficiency of the break
*Frictional resistance between road and tyres
*Gradient
IF THE DRIVER OF A VEHICLE SAW THE OPPOSING VEHICLE DURING
EXTREME SITUATIONS SHOULD CROSS THE FOLLOWING FACTORS:
This is named as PIEV THEORY:
*Perception
*Intellection
*Emotion time
*Volition time
PERCEPTION: it is the time required for sensations recieved by
eyes and ears to be transmitted by brain through
the nervous system.
INTELLECTION: it is the time required for understanding the
situation.
EMOTION TIME: it is the time ellapsed during emotional sensations
and disturbances such as fear,anger etc. with
reference to situation.
VOLITION TIME: it is the time for FINAL ACTION.
*TO AVOID ACCIDENTS IN THE HILL ROADS A TYPE OF
MODIFICATION IS MADE IN THE HILL ROADS,THAT IS CALLED AS 'SUPERELEVATION':

SUPERELEVATION:
we know that the particle or object moving in a circular
path is under centrifugal force. this force is the main cause for
the accidents of vehicle moving in hill roads.
To counteract the effect of centrifugal force & to
avoid accidents the outer edge of the road is rised with respect
to inner edge. this type of modification in hill roads is called as
superelevation
